Colors by Llarowe Emily's Imagination Collection: Swatches and Review

Press Sample

Happy Sunday!  I hope you all had a great weekend. I celebrated my friend's bachelorette party as she gets married in two weeks! So to unwind from a fun weekend, I have all eight polishes from one of Colors By Llarowe's newest collections, Emily's Imagination, which is filled with holographics, shimmers, and a glitter. There are a ton of picture so read more for details of this collection.

Dock of the Bay - one coat. This is a super linear burgundy/magenta fusion polish. Forgive my ridges again, but I had to show you one coat for this polish. You could do two if you have a lot of ridges, but you can see the crazy pigmentation on this one.

That Bloo of Mine! - one coat. Same as Dock of the Bay, this polish is a highly-pigmented blue polish with a sort of silver shimmer. It is very linear but the shimmer gives it something more. In the shade, you can see the glittery shimmer come through, so you should use top coat (although I didn't).

At Last - two coats. Holy crap. This might be one of my favorite holographic polishes EVER. This grey/black holographic has an extremely strong duochrome shimmer that is predominately green but shifts to purple. It is absolutely stunning. If you can only afford one polish, this is it. I have nothing like it that is super holographic and with such an obvious shift in the shimmer.

Plum Crazy - two coats. As its name, it is a plum holographic polish that has satin/white-ish flakes in it that add great dimension. The flakes stand out in the shade. In an ocean of holographic polishes, the flakes make it original in anyone's stash.

OH GUMBALLS! - 2-3 coats and top coat. Depending on your nail length, you will need two or three coats of this polish but I was super surprised by its formula. It wasn't streaky and it leveled out well for a pastel. The addition of iridescent glitter makes it super special. I love seeing the square glitters peeking through.

Julia Roberts 1967 - 2 coats and top coat. What a fun play on the name. I wanted OPI Damone Roberts 1968 but I really didn't want to shell out almost $30. This is BETTER. It has a light holo shift with  a silver shimmer that almost has a flake look. Formula was good but it needs top coat to smooth it over.

Here Comes the Bride - 3 coats and top coat. I am not a milky glitter lover but I do love the combination of purple, iridescent, and black glitter. Also the base is not a stark white, so I think it makes the polish more approachable. It's a soft white so that the glitter doesn't get covered in the base. Three thin coats works best here, but if you have shorter nails, you can get away with two.

I'll Be Seeing You - 3 coats. This is a shimmery blue/teal with shifts of pink, gold, and green. You can see my nail line in the photos, but you really cannot in person, so a fourth coat isn't needed. The base of this polish is so bold. It is going to be my next pedicure. It absolutely reminds me of the beach and water.

If you're a fan of Colors by Llarowe, you will absolutely need to add these polishes to your collection. There is a mix of finishes but my top three are At Last, Julia Roberts 1967, and Plum Crazy. All of the polishes had a great formula and were easy to work with.

Emily's Imagination is out now on Llarowe's web site HERE as well as other polishes from her brand from other collections. This collection ranges from $10-$12. Make sure you follow Llarowe on Facebook and sign up for her e-mail list so you are always up to date with current restock information.
