Poppy Nail Art for Veterans Day

Press Sample
Hi all! Today is Veterans Day, where we remember to recognize those who fought for our country in the past and in the present. I decided to recreate my nails that I did for Memorial Day in 2014.  I also linked why poppies are a representation for Veterans and why they are so important. Head over to that post to read more about the history! I've also shown my Buddy Poppy in the collage below! These are made and sold by Veterans every year, and I purchase and wear one all year long! You can find more information on Buddy Poppies here.

My nails are round since I last did this nail art. I used a similar concept to achieve this look.

1. Paint your nails with a blue color for the sky. I used Zoya Rocky.
2. Using a striping brush, use a few different greens for the grass blades. I used Zoya Jace, Zoya Josie, Zoya Tiana, and Barry M Spring Green.
3. Create the poppies; use a red/off-red color for the poppies and a square nail art brush. I used Jessica Broadway Bound.
4. Add some black to the middle of the poppies and a dot using a creme/light yellow. I used Zoya Willa and Illamasqua Load.
5. Dab on some clouds
6. Top with top coat!

I'm heading off to see a WWII Veteran and a Holocaust survivor speak on their experiences and I count myself lucky to be able to witness them discuss their first-hand survival stories.

Some of the polishes used were provided for honest review.
